Edgemar Theater Group

 

 The Edgemar Theatre Group is a theatre company of professional actors, writers, directors and designers founded on May 3, 2008.  Edgemar Theatre Group’s goal is to mount great original and classic plays.  ETG fervently hopes to bring to the next generation something that is not solitary and electronic, but alive.  Theatre is a shared community experience and as necessary as the air we breathe. Meetings take place monthly. Members have the opportunity to propose projects for the Lab Theatre Season as well as audition for our Main Stage Productions. Membership is limited and new members are accepted by audition. We are looking for talented, pro-active, dedicated artists interested in making Edgemar Center for the Arts their creative home.

Alana Grace

Currently, Alana is finishing her upcoming album, With One Word, to be let out in mid June. She is also hosting the Speed Channel’s 2009 season of “The New American Thunder Show,” the longest running and highest rated motorcycle magazine show on cable television. Her song “Breaking” is a finalist in the international Songwriting Competition, and she is set to play a lead in the upcoming film, The Befallen, this spring. This summer, Alana will also be part of the eclectic lineup for the immensely popular “VANS Warped Tour” and will perform along with numerous up-and-coming musical acts from June through August. She looks forward to the heavy touring schedule and the opportunity to reach out and make new fans across the country. Both a singer and an actress, Alana hopes to become a mainstay in entertainment industry.

Alan Pietruszewski

Alan Pietruszewski graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, entered US Navy flight training and was qualified in the F-14 Tomcat. During his time in the Navy Alan was a flight instructor, TOPGUN graduate and flew airshow demonstrations. Alan is pursuing an acting career and has has appeared on series television in DOLLHOUSE, NCIS, COLD CASE and CSI: MIAMI. Daytime audiences will recognize Alan from his recurring roles on BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Alan also acted as military and technical advisor and gave on screen commentary for the hit History Channel series BATTLE 360, and has performed on stage in OKLAHOMA as Will Parker and CALIFORNIA SUITE as Sidney Cochran.

Al Bernstein

Al received his Masters from the Actors Studio MFA program in New York where he studied intensively with theatre’s top coaches a few are: Ellen Burstyn, Susan Batson (Black Nexus), Sandra Seacott, Elizabeth Kemp and Arthur Penn. Al has been based most of the past 18 years in NYC where his training began at Circle In The Square and Uta Hagens’ HB Studio. Alec Owen

A Los Angeles native, Alec has been acting his whole life. He has studied improv with the Upright Citizen's Brigade, The Groundlings, and Comedy Sportz, and has been in over 30 plays. He is one third of the sketch comedy group Friends of the Family, and plays bass and sings for the band Danger Bees. He is also a founding member of Heard of Elephants, a Los Angeles based music/art collective.

Alyson is a native Texan. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California and the British American Dramatic Academy in Oxford. In 2008 she founded Big Signature Productions in Los Angeles.

Andrew Graves

Andrew moved to Los Angeles from the UK in 1996 and joined the Edgemar Theatre Group in 2009 where his first show was Present Laughter. Previous theatre work includes Henry V (Crown City Theatre Company), Private Lives (Santa Clarita Playhouse), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Avery Schreiber Theatre - Shakespeare in the Park...ing Lot), The Author’s Thumb (Theatre Unlimited); Bedroom Farce and Henry V (Pasadena Shakespeare Company). TV: Talkshow With Spike Feresten (FOX), True Caribbean Pirates (History Channel) and Seconds From Disaster – Titanic (National Geographic). Ben Chamberlain

Ben loves seeing a good movie. Some of his favorites are On the Waterfront, Rocky , Gladiator, Les Miserables, Slumdog Millionare, and Once. He has a heart for the lowly and broken people of this world.The Jockument was a feature documentary that Ben directed, produced, and edited. Recently Ben wrote, produced, and starred in the live action short, Rocky Cola. Ben will be starring in Painting Pictures, his first lead role in a feature film. Shooting is scheduled to begin November 2009.

Ben Pronsky

A direct descendant of the Allen Brothers, founders of Houston, TX. Ben's father was a military officer and received his doctorate at Harvard. His mother, a yoga instructor, provided the more ethereal perspective, embracing the arts. While working towards a double degree in Communications and Theater, he landed his first on-screen role in Warning: Parental Advisory, and later that year filmed his first lead role in the short film, The Stairwell. After several roles in indie films and on stage, he soon found himself opposite Oscar winner Jamie Foxx with a small role in the biopic, Ray. A comedic performance in the campy horror Creepshow III came next, followed by a moving performance as a desperate American soldier stuck on a desert landmine in the short film Mine. Ben has also worked regularly in commercials, including campaigns for companies such as McDonald's, Kmart, and an upcoming spot for Pizza Hut.  He has studied regularly at the Larry Moss Studio and is currently a member of the Edgemar Theatre Company in Santa Monica.

Brice Harris

Brice Harris is a new member of the Edgemar Theatre Company.  His first role in the theatre was at the age of 4, when his father cast and directed him in a production of Axelrod’s The Seven Year Itch, where he would sneak to the back of the theatre after his “lines” and watch his mother play out the rest of the show.  He has been involved with the theatre ever since.  Brice recently relocated to Topanga Canyon after completing his Master’s degree in Theatre Production at Humboldt State University with the goal of expanding his horizons into Film and Television, while continuing to enjoy a successful career in the theatre.  A recent member of SAG and AFTRA (summer 2009), Brice has been involved with several film, television, and commercial projects since arriving in Los Angeles.  Other theatre credits include George in Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo, Leo in Simon’s Chapter Two and Eddie in his Lost In Yonkers, Friar Lawrence in Romeo and Juliet, Frank in Churchill’s Three More Sleepless Nights, Dr. Wally in McPherson’s Marvin’s Room, Uncle Peck in Vogel’s How I Learned To Drive, and Greg in Gurney’s Sylvia.

Christopher Biewer

Christopher first stepped on a stage at the age of 7 and became hooked.  His favorite stage role was Millet in Fuddy Meers.  In Chicago, he performed improv and sketch comedy at every theater, bar, or back alley he could find, including Second City and Improv Olympic.  In LA, Christopher can be found on stage every Sunday in Top Story! Weekly at IO West.  On screen, he can be seen in a few commercials, as a series regular in 4 web series, as the lead in the independent feature Crash Down Hearts, and alongside John Witherspoon in Hopelessly in June.  He is also a Physical Therapist.  See videos and find out more at www.christopherbiewer.com

Daria Balling

Daria is delighted to be a new member Edgemar Theater Group. She is also currently affiliated with Moving Arts Theater Company,  where she has appeared in world premieres of new plays such as  “Hip Skidoo “Infinite Black Suitcase”, “Like Mystery, “”The Boy without a Tail”, two seasons of the  Car Plays, and Sheila Callaghan’s award  winning “New Shoes.” In addition, she  played Flora in “27 Wagons Full of Cotton” at Theater Theatre, and worked with Clu Gulager in his adaptation of the Molly Bloom chapter of Ulysses, called “Naughty, naughty Mr. James Joyce.” Before coming to Los Angeles, Daria lived in New York City, where she performed in several off-off Broadway plays, and was a member of the Independent Theater Company.

Elias McCabe

Elias is a native of Los Angeles.  His work as an actor includes film, television, and theater.  Earlier this year he appeared in MONSTER at the Pasadena Playhouse and at Edgemar.  Partial stage credits: LES PARENTS TERRIBLES, ALL IN THE TIMING, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, and the West Coast premiere of THE TRAVELLING COMPANION.  Film work ranges from studio big budgets to student films.  Partial film credits: WATERWORLD, COCK & BULL STORY, DISFIGURED, and recently completed WHALING and the INHERENT DANGERS THEREIN where he portrayed whaling legend Dockweiler Avery.  He has appeared on television in numerous commercials, and both day and night time dramas including the role of Roderick Morley on PORT CHARLES.  Partial television credits: ER, THE DISTRICT, BLACK SCORPION, ARREST AND TRIAL, and a recurring role on GENERAL HOSPITAL.  Elias is also an accomplished photographer and credits the late, great Ken Haak for being his inspiration and mentor.

Emily Amezcua

Emily Amezcua got her start in performing at age 5 and has been at it ever since.  Gymnastics and dancing quickly segued into singing, plays and musical theater.  Emily has appeared in San Diego productions of Guys and Dolls, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Women.  She also has a great passion for film and began studying acting for film and television with coach Carey Scott at the Rehearsal Room.  Emily made the move to Los Angeles two years ago and is ecstatic about discovering Edgemar Center for the Arts.  And has been reminded of why she loves acting.  Look for Emily next year in the films, Lorraine, Mondo Holocausto! and in the upcoming webseries, Workshop.

Eric Pierce

Eric Pierce graduated in 2008 from the University of Michigan with a BFA degree in performance. Since then, he has performed in numerous film and theatre projects in Michigan as well as Los Angeles. Recent performances include Hello Herman, a new play by John Buffalo Mailer, Petruchio in The Taming Of The Shrew, Markinson in A Few Good Men, Guildenstern in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and Constantine in Big Love. His most recent work in film was the role of A.C. in Bite Me: The Movie. In addition to acting, Eric practices stage combat performance and choreography and is certified by the S.A.F.D. (Society of American Fight Directors).

Heather Stewart

Heather Stewart is an accomplished actress and singer-songwriter in Los Angeles. She started her singing career as a background vocalist for the “Inda Eaton Band” where she toured around the U.S. opening for such acts as Hootie and the Blowfish, LeAnn Rimes and Blues Traveler.  Last year, she released her first CD of original music, “Life of the Party”.  The title track was featured in an episode the ABC television series, “Men in Trees” and another track was featured in the indie feature, “Young, Single and Angry”… a film in which Heather also co-starred.  Heather's latest acting gig was performing in “Pope Joan” a world premiere musical produced by the famed Michael Butler.  Heather has also co-created/hosted three successful “new media” shows and is proud to report she has 5,000 followers on Twitter and over 1,500 followers of her comedy alter ego, Pencil Jesus.

Jacquelynn King

Jacquelynn is very happy to be a member of the Edgemar Theater Company and to be part of this community of passionate, hardworking and talented artists. She has appeared on the Edgemar stage in "A Night Out", "Monster", and "Scene Bites". Recent film credits include "Son of Mourning" and "Amazing Grace". She was a regular on NBCs "Deal or No Deal" and "Fashion House" on MyTV. She has performed in a variety of theater and new media productions and looks forward to future opportunities to work, learn and grow as an actor.

Jane McLean

Born in the Philippines and raised in Toronto, Jane McLean began her career in 2001, after studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  She has since starred in over two dozen film and television projects, including: Showtime’s hit series Dexter, the hit Fox series 24, Sundance Channel’s award-winning series Terminal City, BBC’s Supervolcano, Dave Thomas’ comedy feature Whitecoats, Lifetime’s Who Named the Knife, New Line’s Shoot ‘Em Up, Sci-Fi’s The Dresden Files and Warner Bros’ sweeping sci-fi romance The Time Travelers Wife.  She has been a proud member of The Edgemar Theatre Company since its inception in 2008.  She resides in Los Angeles and is represented by The Kohner Agency and Perry Zimel of Oscars, Abrams, Zimel & Associates.

Jasmynne Shaye

Jasmynne Shaye is a graduate of North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, NC where she also studied with Steven Speilberg Fellowship Alumnus, Brooke Dattner. Jasmynne is truly a multi-talented artist who has appeared in several independent films and industrial videos produced in North Carolina, New York City, and Los Angeles. In 2008 she had the opportunity to act in six stage plays including the lead role of Arlie in Marsha Norman’s “Getting Out.” She has also written and produced “Stepping On a Few Toes,”  a one-woman show that opened May 2009. Extensively trained in dance, Jasmynne has appeared on the dance stage and in numerous music videos. She was also a featured choreographer for various works for stage, including "La Flamenca Neuva" for DanceVisions touring troupe. In addition to her acting and dancing, Jasmynne is also an accomplished radio and event host.

Jonathan Oldham

Originally from Australia Jonathan has been acting in film and television for many years. He has appeared in such films as Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage and Romulus My Father with Eric Bana. Before making his way to the US Jonathan trained with Australia's best acting teachers at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) along with Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush and Mel Gibson. In the US Jonathan has worked with Tom Cruise in Valkyrie, Daniel Baldwin in the thriller A Darker Reality and was the lead in the horror feature Bled andAngela's Ashes. Jonathan has been with the Edgemar Theater Group for three months now and has enjoyed every moment performing in the very successful Hello Herman and nowPresent Laughter. In his career Jonathan has enjoyed playing a range of characters from the dark and sinister villain to the larger than life funny man. Jonathan is someone who can take any character and put his own unique twist on it.

Judy Ho

Judy Ho was most recently seen on stage as Gloria in “Karma the Musical” and Yvonne in “Miss Saigon.” Favorite TV appearances include “Veronica Mars,” “American Heiress,” “Fame,” and "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien." Judy made her film debut in “Breaking All the Rules,” and recently wrapped the SAG feature “iCrime.” When she’s not acting, Judy holes up in local arcades and bullies little kids who dare challenge her on any video game, works as a clinical psychologist (mostly with kids, ironically), writes music on her piano, and updates her website (www.judyho.us). Layla Steinwald

Layla Steinwald, born in California, has studied theater at Loyola Marymount University and the London School of Drama where she performed original material on the West End. She is a proud member of the Edgemar Theater Company, founded by Michelle Danner, with whom she has studied with at the Larry Moss Studios for several years. Marianne Sawchuk

Marianne Sawchuk was born in Ottawa, Canada to a fighter pilot & an x-ray technician. Growing up mostly in the prairies of Western Canada, she lived in 11 different places in Canada & the US, was the last daughter of 4 girls & is also an identical twin. She is an actress & producer for theatre & film. She studied acting in Vancouver, New York, & LA. She is the creator & artistic director for “Women At Play(s)”, an original 1 act play festival for female actors, directors & playwrights. Being mommy to her daughter & married to Bruno Verdoni, also an actor, brings her the greatest joys. Nate Golon

Nate Golon has been actively involved with the Edgemar Theater Group and the Larry Moss Studio for several years. Nate studied with Michelle Danner for over two years, and has acted in numerous plays at Edgemar, along with the annual student showcase, "Scene Bites". In 2009, Nate produced and starred in Harold Pinter's "A Night Out", which was the first play produced and starring solely Edgemar Theater Group members. Selga Sanders

Selga Sanders is originally from the Jersey Shore, home of the Jersey Devil.With her passion for the arts, she has worked in many feature films,commercials and has had several guest appearances on TV. She has beenperforming with various improv groups in the LA area for over 15 yearsincluding Second City, LA Theatresports, Cold Tofu, Acme & The Wild Bunch.She is a vocally trained singer and enjoys singing R&B, Pop and Axl Rose's"Sweet Child of Mine".She is an active member of the Larry Moss Studios-Edgemar Center for theArts. Shannon Going

Shannon Going grew up in southern California acting, dancing, and performing whenever possible! She is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara with degrees in Psychology and English, which actually both come in quite handy in the theatre! After graduating Shannon moved to Los Angeles where she has been studying with Michelle Danner and other great teachers both at Larry Moss Studio and elsewhere. Shannon is actively expanding her film and television resume while looking forward to continuing her work on stage here at Edgemar. She is excited to call Edgemar her theatre home, and loves being able to work with this talented and inspiring group of artists.

Thomas S. Nielsen

As a tennis pro turned actor, this former student of the late Gene Frankel has appeared on the New York stage in productions of 'Richard III', ''Oedipus Rex', and 'The Day the Whores Came Out to Play Tennis'. Thomas' film work includes roles in the independent films 'The Hindenburg Omen' and 'Coda' directed by Frederic Collier and Scott D. Rosenbaum respectfully. Having just moved to Los Angeles with his wife and their beloved cat, Chloe, Thomas is proud to be a member of the Edgemar Theatre Company.

Tracey Sayed

Tracey Sayed hails from the great state of South Dakota, home of the famous Mt. Rushmore and Bob Barker, for those not in the know, and is thrilled to be joining the Edgmar Theatre Group.  Wildly allergic to the cold air which is a staple of her hometown, she came to LA in search of her dreams...or at least a healthy winter.  She would like to thank her family and friends for their continued affection and support.

Amity Janow

Amity,(SAG,AFTRA) has been a member of the Edgemar Theater since it’s beginning, and is a founding member of the Sanford Meisner Center .There she performed in a number of Plays, including the lead in Lynn Mamet’s self directed, “The Divorce” . In LA she performed in “Sin”, at the Hudson Theater, “Ghost Stories” at the Golden Theater, “The Baby Kids” at the Gardner.etc...She has appeared in such varying TV roles as a bikini judge on Baywatch and an art teacher on The Power Rangers! Training: Sanford Meisner, at the Meisner School of Acting, Bobby Lewis NYC , The Yale / Oxford program, and Michelle Danner.

Samara Friedman

Born and raised in Santa Monica, Samara grew up in the world of theater at the Santa Monica Playhouse. In high school she performed in England with the Young Professionals Company at the Playbox Theater. She attended UCLA where she earned a degree in Psychology, children’s developmental disorders. After graduation she joined the Actors’ Gang where she has studied Comedia del Arte. She is now a proud founding member of the Edgemar Theater Company. In addition to her passion for acting she has a passion for Mr. Cecil’s California Ribs where she is the GM and catering manager! Since graduation she has done a number of commercials and independent films. Samara is currently making her debut performance at Edgemar in “Present Laughter” by Noel Coward, as well as her first foray at Producing!

Elizabeth Seaton

Elizabeth is from Danville, California. She studied with a scholarship at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. She made the move to Los Angeles and is pursuing her career as an Actress, Singer, and Voice Over Artist. Recent Los Angeles Theatre credits include Ann in Spider Baby The Musical, and working with Peter Schneider and Glen Roven in the original musical Normans Ark. John Bobek

John Bobek is always glad to be treading the boards at Edgemar with the Theatre Group, and has performed in YOU'RE ON THE AIR (Pete Green), INCH OF YOUR LIFE (Eric Day), A NIGHT OUT (Seely), and MENTAL: THE MUSICAL, when he played “Sport” and won Travis Michael Holder's "TicketHolder" award for best supporting actor in a musical.  He’s done some TV (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, WITHOUT A TRACE, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, THE WEST WING) a movie or two (WHEN A STRANGER CALLS), and some outside stage, too (PROOF, GUYS AND DOLLS).  He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Marquette University, lives in Hollywood, is represented by The Gage Group and managed by Perry Zimel at Oscars, Abrams, Zimel, and can be found on IMDb for other info!

Gene Loveland

Singer-Songwriter-Musician-Actor Gene Loveland grew up in the small town of Glenoma, Washington. From the start, he took to his parents’love of country music-listening to artists such as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. Gene picked up the guitar when he was 4 years old and began to emulate thelikes of the amazing artists he watched on TV with his family. And before long, at age 5, Gene discovered the man in black leather with hair to match that would become his idol – Elvis Presley. It was from that day on that Gene knew exactly what he was meant to do. By age eight, he started winning talent shows in nearby towns, which further convinced him of what he was to become. Throughout his school years he began to play with other local musicians and fine-tune his musical gifts. Recently, Gene has been looking for different challenges for his creativity and has started working in the acting field. In addition to working in independent films and music videos, Gene decided he wanted to write a screen play based on one of his songs, “If It Kills Me”. Elizabeth Godley

Elizabeth Godley is conservatory trained from Louisiana State University, where she was the Artistic Director for Renegade Shakespeare Company. She originated the role of Achara in Cocktail, directed by Ping Chong, and Jillian in Ariel View, seen at FringeNYC ‘08. She trained in aerial arts for the original piece Unrequited, and attended an intensive with Diavolo Dance Theatre under Jacques Heim. She is a member of Shakespeare Santa Monica. Tania Pilar

Tania Pilar most recently appeared as SOPHIA LAMERSICK on ABC Family's "10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU" playing a high school senior with a less then appropriate relationship with her teacher. She has also appeared on NICKELODEON'S "iCARLY" and "ALL MY CHILDREN" on ABC, as well as numerous commercials. Tania was born and raised in Miami FL, in a multicultural, Spanglish household; her mother is from Bolivia and father from Kentucky (they met at an airport...) She studied theatre and dance since she was 6, attending one of Miami's most prestigious academy's at the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program at Coral Reef High School. Tania traveled all throughout South America growing up, predominantly to Bolivia with her mother every summer. Jim Senti

 Jim Senti was born and raised in Saint Louis, MO. After receiving his BA in theatre from Butler University and working in repertory theatre throughout the mid-west, he studied and received his MFA in acting from Harvard University. During his time in Cambridge, MA. He was in three main-stage productions at the American Repertory Theater and was the leading role in an adaptation of Moliere's  A Bourgeois Gentleman which traveled to Moscow Russia and was performed at the Moscow Art Theatre for a popular three month run.

Nick George

Nick George is an actor, musician, writer and teacher living in Venice Ca.  A founding member of the Venice Film Artist's Collective, Nick acted in, composed music and co-wrote the collective’s first film, The Bridge. He regularly works in theatre film and television. Some recent credits include, Fox's Dollhouse, Young and the Restless, and the Vietnam War bio pic 21 and a Wake Up. As well as being a member at Edgemar, he is a charter member of the Kent Klineman Studio in Hollywood. Nick is an on faculty drama teacher at the Kabbalah Center Children's Academy and The Gary Spatz School in Century City.

Liz Lytle

 A proud Ohio native, Liz graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in Film, Theatre and Philosophy.  She recently completed a leading role as a punky, disillusioned artist in the feature ACT NATURALLY and a supporting role in the film THE TOUCH with Olivia Munn.  She can be seen starring as the quirky, super-nerd Doreen Nagle in THE DOREEN EPISODES and a recurring character on WORKSHOP – both available on the web.  After graduating from Improv Olympic and becoming officially funny, Liz was a massive hit at her latest dinner party and her high school reunion.  She is currently writing a one-woman-show about our US Service Women deployed in the Middle East.  Liz allocates the rest of her exuberant energy towards snowboarding, yoga, contemporary art, performance poetry and adventuring.

Chris Lohr

Christopher, a native southern Californian, has traveled the world working in numerous high profile film, television, and theater projects.  Working with legendary film director David O. Russell in “Three Kings” was a highlight.  Chris loves challenges and playing a variety of roles including different accents, speaking in foreign languages, and singing.  Chris has worked along side such stars as George Clooney, Dakota Fanning, Mark Walberg, Ice Cube, and Mikalti Williamson,  Chris is also a professional singer/songwriter releasing his first original album “Halo” in the fall of 2010.  And an ex-pro surfer and still loves to surf as much as possible.

Jennifer Schwartz

Jennifer is a Sacramento native with a BA from San Francisco State. Her acting credits include: Grease, Bye-Bye Birdie, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Les Miserables, and The Fall of X, a collaboration between City Theatre and the Sacramento Police Department to curb teen violence/graffiti through performance, workshops, and mentoring. Jennifer also previously served as Drama Director for Fusion Youth Ministries in Sacramento. She is currently writing her first novel and two stage plays. Her play 3 Days, 3 Girls, and an Angry Asian Man (written with Cathleen Meredith) will premiere at the Edgemar Center for the Arts this August.

Victoria Stern

Victoria has worked at numerous Los Angeles, Regional and New York Off-Broadway Theatres.  Most recently, she was seen in "The Last Seder," a co-production of Ensemble Studio Theatre-LA and the Greenway Arts Alliance.  Victoria has appeared at The Kennedy Center, The Eugene O’Neill, Shakespeare & Company, The Powerhouse Theatre, and numerous other theatres in states that include Massachusetts, Vermont, Missouri and Rhode Island.  Television and film appearances include "Law & Order," "Players," "Boston Public," a recurring role in "Feds," and LAdies Room L.A., (an award-winning film she also produced).  Victoria can currently be seen in the highly acclaimed web series, "Faux Baby."  She graduated, with honors, from Smith College.  Victoria is a producer as well as a published author of poetry, articles on child rearing and has written a children’s book.  She lives in Santa Monica with her husband and two young sons.

Netta Floyzelle

Arynetta Floyzelle, affectionately known as ‘Netta,’ is a Texas transplant to Los Angeles.  Born in Marshall, population 20,000 and raised in San Antonio she is a self-proclaimed ‘City girl with a Country heart’ and lifelong Texan! She began modeling after graduating from Hampton University which led her to signing with The Horne Agency, in Dallas.  After a couple of years working fulltime as an actress and model in Dallas, Arynetta moved to Los Angeles where she has fallen in love with theatre.  She has worked in commercials including Allstate, AT&T and Chevy and her theater credits include Diary of a Catholic School Dropout, Play it Again, Sam and travel with Ebony Fashion Fair.   Arynetta is also a writer and Co-Founder of CLAASS, Inc. (Continuing the Legacy of Academic Achievement though Scholarship and Service) a non-profit scholarship and mentorship organization.  She is honored to be a part of such a wonderful company and is excited to work with Michelle, and the talented actors, writers and directors in the Edgemar Theatre Family.

Max Acosta-Rubio

Max Acosta-Rubio hails from Caracas, Venezuela. He is the descendant of Emilio Koesling, a German ex-patriot who was living in Venezuela when WWII broke out. Emilio was drafted by Germany, but not being a fan of Nazi’s, he participated in a mutiny on the submarine to which he had been assigned as an engineer, and made it back to Venezuela where he had four children, including Max's grandpa, before going out to buy cigarettes one day and never coming back. Max’s paternal grandfather was a Senator in the Cuban government prior to Castro's takeover, and his father fought in the "Bay of Pigs" invasion. Max loves Surfing, Dobermans, Acting, and playing Jazz drums. He is a fearless and Dangerous actor.

Rene Lovit

Born Irina Rene Valerivna Shidlovsky in Vinnetsa Ukraine, Rene Lovit began performing at a young age studying ballet at her local daycare center. Moving to San Francisco at the age of five she transitioned into International Latin Dancesport competing worldwide throughout her high school years. Her desire for the stage grew upon entering college and she began studying acting at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in three years with a BA in English Literature with an emphasis in Shakespeare. A year later she received her MA in Performance Studies from RADA and King's College, London. Having recently moved to Los Angeles she is delighted to be a new member of the Edgemar Theatre Group.

Tania Getty

Tania Getty has done a great deal of theatre in Los Angeles, most recently at Pacific Resident Theatre in FATA MORGANA, ALICE SIT-BY-THE-FIRE, and CLOSER.  She also starred in the indie film comedy NEVER SAY MACBETH which was full of L.A. theatre jokes. She studied the dramatic arts at the University of Arizona, Goldsmith’s College London, and attended the BADA program in Oxford.  Tania is a member of the Edgemar Literary Committee and also a writer.

Lauren Simon

Lauren Simon graduated in 2009 from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Theater Arts.  She recently appeared in a staged reading of “Shiloh Rules”, an original play co-starring Conchata Ferrell, at the Pacific Resident Theater.  At the Edgemar, Lauren appeared as The Girl in a play titled “Third-First Person”, which was part of ‘Acts on the Edge’, a festival of one act plays.  You can also see her as Lydia in “3 Days, 3 Girls, and an Angry Asian Man” which opens on July 29th and runs through August. 8th.
