The late Amiri Baraka brings us DUTCHMAN, a two character play between a young middle class Black man and a Bohemian white woman with suspect intentions. Their meeting, flirtation, intellectual discourse and sexual dance on a hot New York City subway in 1964, lead to a struggle for life and death.
THIS 2015 RENDITION, DIRECTED BY LEVY LEE SIMON,
WILL FEATURE…
Tanna Frederick as Lula
and
Siaka Massaquoias Clay
The controversial play will also be a mainstage production at this years, National Black Theatre Festival in Winston Salem, NC. August 3rd – 8th. DUTCHMAN will be on the bill with Levy Lee Simon’s one act two character play, THE LAST REVOLUTIONARY.
