STORY LINE: Low budget filmmakers Kaveh and Raul squabble like children whenever they’re in the same room — but when their latest movie is accepted for a screening at the Alamo Drafthouse, they reluctantly reunite, and can’t help trying to put together yet another movie while they’re literally surrounded by investors and producers and stars…

YUKIO TAI: Male, Late 40s to Late 50s. An impeccably dressed Japanese man (doesn’t have to be Japanese, but must be Asian), who looks every bit the rich eccentric, Yukio is a famously wealthy and visionary B-movie producer, “the Japanese Roger Corman.” In Austin to accept a lifetime achievement award, he’s mercilessly stalked by Kaveh and Raul, who are determined to get their script into his unwilling hands. But when Kaveh finally gets face time with Yukio, she’s instantly shot down because Yukio “doesn’t do westerns”…4 lines, 4 scenes (18) Must be comfortable with Improv!

NATASHA: Female, Mid to Late 20s. A pretty Russian girl, she is Kaveh’s ex-girlfriend, and although they dated for five years, Natasha now thinks that she was more his therapist than his girlfriend. When Kaveh asks her to meet with him before his trip to Austin, Natasha agrees, and she has her reasons. After Kaveh makes yet another desperate plea for them to get back together, Natasha breaks the news that she’s seeing someone. She later appears in a samurai movie written by Kaveh and Raul…1 speech & 18 lines, 2 scenes (2) Must be comfortable with Improv!

LUIZA: Female, Late 20s to Early 30s. A beautiful Brazilian girl, Luiza also attends the film festival, and meets Kaveh at the Rooftop Bar and Grill. Later, after getting pretty drunk, she and Kaveh have a foursome with Raul and Portia. She wakes up the next morning, really hung over and badly creeped out about her excesses of the night before. When Kaveh tries to dote on her, she lets him know that she’d appreciate a little less familiarity, but he actively relives the night before as if it were a movie he watched…1 speech & 14 lines, 8 scenes (30) Must be comfortable with Improv! Partial nudity!

PORTIA: Female, Late 20s to Early 30s. A beautiful Asian woman, Portia meets Raul at the film festival, and is impressed with the fact that he recognizes her name as belonging to a character from “The Merchant Of Venice.” She talks literature with Raul while flirting with him, and after a long drunken evening, she and Raul have sex, not only with each other but with Kaveh and Luisa. In the morning, horrified at herself for having helped Raul cheat on his wife, Portia has a tense conversation with Raul, but ultimately they strike an unhappy truce…8 lines, 5 scenes (55) Must be comfortable with Improv! Partial nudity!
